Electrokinetic effect provided by long oceanic waves coming on shore

چکیده
Electrokinetic effect (EK) caused by long oceanic waves in porous water-saturated rocks of seabed and shore is examined theoretically. One possible reason for this the motion groundwater due to volume deformation coming on shore. The same mechanism responsible seismoelectric observed during seismic passage through ground-recording station. In study, we examine another which wave-produced variable pressure plays a role piston pushing seawater into sandy or seashore thereby exciting EK effect. To estimate effect, first consider gravity wave then solve 2D‑problem variations produced bottom. This solution used describe filtration subjected seawater. current telluric electric field medium are derivable gradient fluid. amplitude has been shown decrease almost exponentially with distance from shoreline. A penetration depth as function frequency range 10‑100 mHz was analyzed. played generation ULF natural electromagnetic noise coastal zone discussed.

Combined Effect of Rotation and Topography on Shoaling Oceanic Internal Solitary Waves
Internal solitary waves commonly observed in the coastal ocean are oftenmodeled by a nonlinear evolution equation of the Korteweg–de Vries type. Because these waves often propagate for long distances over several inertial periods, the effect of Earth’s background rotation is potentially significant. The relevant extension of the Kortweg–de Vries is then the Ostrovsky equation, which for interna...

abstract the first purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of consciousness-raising (c-r) activities on learning grammatical structures (simple present tense in this case) by iranian guidance school efl learners. the second one was to investigate the effect of gender on learning the simple present tense through c-r activities and tasks. finally, this study aimed to investigate the ...
Predictability horizon of oceanic rogue waves
Prediction is a central goal and a yet-unresolved challenge in the investigation of oceanic rogue waves. Here we define a horizon of predictability for oceanic rogue waves and derive, via extensive computational experiments, a statistically converged predictability time scale for these structures. We show that this time scale is a function of the sea state (i.e., severity of the ambient ocean w...

Detection of microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses is important in a variety of fields such as bioscience research, medical diagnosis, screening analysis in food processing and for environmental testing. Bacterial contamination of food, water and the environment is on the rise around the globe. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 76 million food-borne illnesses ...
متن کاملOn the propagation of oceanic waves driven by a strong macroscopic flow
In this work we study oceanic waves in a shallow water flow subject to strong wind forcing and rotation, and linearized around a inhomogeneous (non zonal) stationary profile. This extends the study [1], where the profile was assumed to be zonal only and where explicit calculations were made possible due to the 1D setting. Here the diagonalization of the system, which allows to identify Rossby a...
